Welcome to our new Recovery Empowerment Network Website!
Recovery Empowerment Network (REN) is a membership association for people with lived experience of psychiatric symptoms, substance abuse, or both.
REN has five Empowerment Centers co-located at Magellan sites throughout Maricopa County. Our Highland, San Tan, Osborn, Metro, and South Central locations welcome any person who wishes to participate in a small community that will help them discover the skills they need to live in the larger community.
Programs are developed to meet the specific needs expressed by our members. Current classes include topics such as creating positive relationships, grief and loss, recovery, compassionate communication, and resiliency. A recent addition to REN’s programs is the inclusion of health and wellness opportunities. Classes include tai chi’ instruction, mindful meditation, and chair massage.
Members also attend monthly activities such as baseball games, festivals, art exhibits, hockey games, out-of-town events, and more.
REN offers education and skills training for their members regarding their rights as a person living with psychiatric challenges and supports recovery through information based classes. Classes currently include how to participate in creating an ISP, Effects of Trauma, and Recovery Support Training. We also create opportunities for members to participate in advocacy at the judicial and legislative level, including federal action as a member of the National Coalition of Mental Health Consumer/Survivor Organizations and Protecting Arizona’s Family Coalition (PAFCO).
As you can see, REN offers a large variety of opportunities for developing life skills and community involvement. Enrollment is quick and easy too! Give us a call at 602-248-0368 or click here to find the Empowerment Center nearest you.
Registration for the Recovery Support Training scheduled for April 4, 2013 is CLOSED. Please check back in May for information about upcoming classes and registration.
